    7.

The New American Bible. Translated from the original languages with critical use of all the ancient sources by members of the Catholic Biblical Association of America. New York, no date. Imprimatur 1970. P. J. Kenedy & Sons

  • According to communication with the webmaster from Blumrich's son Christoph, who helped Blumirch research the non-technical parts of the book, when Blumrich checked other Bibles to see if the "round feet" wording was accurate, he found the same phrase in this translation—two seemingly completely unrelated translations, purchased more than a decade apart on different continents and not even in the same language!

  • Unfortunately, neither of them realized that the English-language NAB translators in the United States had reviewed the 1957 German translation, recognized the problem the German translators had seen—modern city-dwelling readers would have no idea what a "calf's foot" looked like—and the NAB translators decided to adopt the same "round feet" phrase although it was not entirely accurate.
